Love Brothers! I have had dreams about the Paul Roll (not too erotic of dreams, mind you) - recommend the seared tuna with jalapeno, the garlic shrimp roll, ceviece salad, albacore sushi.... I could go on and on, but am getting hungry. Been coming for many years, and although the same Bob Marley CD is on every time I visit, the service and food never disappoint! What are you waiting for?? Go!

I love Brothers. I have been going for years and the food is great, the staff is great, the music over the speaker is great ...everything is great.

Just went here tonight, my father wanted to try a new sushi joint in the valley, so i browsed through Yelp and found this spot. I must say, I was not steered wrong. Today is Friday, and we got to the spot at about 8:00 or so. Entire place is packed, which I guess is not too hard to do, since this place is pretty small. There were some people ahead of us, I guess waiting for a spot at the bar. I told them I would take bar or table, whatever comes first, and they sat us after about 1 minute wait time. Here is the rundown on the food. Solid Miso soup, one of the better bowls I have had. Tuna - good, nothing special. Yellowtail - good, fresh, did not blow my mind. Salmon - very good. Red Snapper - excellent, very fresh, delcious. Konpachi - great, fresh. Paul roll - really great, this is shrimp, tuna, salmon, and crab with a bit of avocado, wrapped in cucumber. Comes in 4 large pieces, no rice. I would definetely try this again. Also this dish that consisted of seared tuna, thinly sliced, which had some ponzu-like sauce, and finely minced daikon or onion or something. On top of the small mound of this mystery vegetation was a thin slice of jalapeno. This is how spicy tuna should taste, it was great. Will get again. Tried the Garlic Shrimp, this was solid. Lobster roll was good, but small, probably would not go for it again. Tempura shrimp handroll was very good, they brought it out while the shrimp were still BLAZING hot, which is a huge plus. They used spicy mayo instead of my preferred eel sauce, so I'll have to remember to ask about this next time. Also, their ginger here is very good, fairly spicy, just tasted fresh. Service here is about as wonderful as you could hope for. Like I said, place is fully packed, and yet when we ordered, the waitress started bringing out our food literally about 2 minutes later. Also, it is a bit of a pet peeve of mine at sushi places, that when I ask what is fresh, if a place tells you "Everything", they are always lying (with the exception of Maru Sushi in Valencia, that is). When we asked the waitress for recommendations on fresh fish, she told us to try the Konpachi and Red Snapper, which were the two best varieties of Nigiri sushi we ate. So basically, great service, great food, price is slightly higher than some places, but who wants to pay $1 less and get fish that is days older? Screw that. I will definitely come back here.

I would never journey this far out for sushi. Normally. But I was out in the area, and boo wanted to take me. And why would I refuse sushi? So we hopped on the 101, parked, dodged cars, and ended up here. The bar was full, so we sat at a table, drank some delicious green tea, and ordered. lobster cut roll- huge pieces of lobster, soy paper, smelt roe, cucumber and some sauce. not too much rice, which is always great sake- marinated onions on top, but I didn't care for them too much. But the salmon was excellent, melted in my mouth. albacore- chef recommended; best nigiri of the night; super super huge pieces; so fresh; only had one piece, because boo at the other one. I'm still thinking about it...such a tease to my tastebuds. I should've gotten the sashimi ika- my least favorite of the night, but still tasty hamachi sashimi- ridiculous aji sashimi- drool...came as fresh as it gets...right off the damn fish. marinated in ponzu with green onions kampachi sashimi- oh goodness Boo also had some other things, but I can't remember since I didn't try them. He ordered all sashimi and one tiny roll. Smart guy. My favorites were the albacore and the aji, but everything was fabulous. I'll come back when I'm close by. But Torrance to Woodland Hills? BAH. Definitely order chef recommendations.

Wonderful. It's the best sushi restaurant I've been to. Only 4* because the place is really small and you'll have to wait no matter what : ( Also, I don't think their regular bento foods are as good as other places. They do, however, have wonderfully nice and talented sushi chefs, so go to the sushi bar if you can!!! The garlic shrimp is soooooooooo good, so be sure to get that. The host/hostess can be kind of impatient too, but that's how it is because there are so many people wanting to be seated (just a heads up).

Honest, this is a great sushi joint.. i've been coming here for 12 plus years. The waitresses know what saki we like and always brings it.. cause we always drink it!! lol... they have great yellow tail belly, the freshest ama ebi, alive till you order. soso miso soup. great sauteed shimp.. its cooked shimp in a cut roll with a garlic oil base with some mayo or something like it in the roll... trust me its good. they have a amazing seared garlic tuna dish, but if you dont want the whole dish ($22 bucks a pop) order the seared tuna sushi instead, its two pieces. DO NOT go to little brothers, altho they are in the same family of owners, you cant compare... Brothers is the way to go,.. the older lady by the door is the wife of the chef, he is usually making rolls on the right side of the bar...

Wowwwwww - fresh, different and reasonable pricing. I really enjoyed the garlic sauteed shrimp. The miso is different in taste. Tight seating...expect a wait if you want to sit at the actual sushi bar. Quick service. Has it's own parking lot but not too big so it will be a little tight if it's full. Sushi chef was very nice and friendly.

If you blink, you might miss this teeny-tiny, yet AMAZING sushi restaurant on Ventura. The wait area is nonexistent, but the wait is SO WORTH IT. I haven't seen sushi that fresh West of the sushi Nazi. Everything I have tried at this place has been better and better every time. The sauteed shrimp roll is GREAT, but I would recommend absolutely anything here.

It's strange to think that an oddly named Japanese restaurant in the outskirts of suburbia could be the best sushi bar in Los Angeles, and yet that's exactly what everyone who eats here comes away convinced of. To make things even stranger, the location is clearly a former residential bungalow, which makes you wonder what its previous tenants think about its current use. Regardless of what their opinion is, the consensus opinion is that Brother Sushi always has the freshest possible fish, and among the most talented sushi chefs. It's also a good place for celebrity sightings. The first time I came here, Pam Anderson & Tommy Lee were nonchalantly sitting at one table with some friends, while Beau Bridges was sitting two tables away with his family. Order the spicy tuna handroll, yellowtail, and my favorite - eel (unagi). Also, they have some great specialty rolls. You cannot go wrong with Brother Sushi.

This place deserves 4 stars for food but because it is overpriced, I am only going to give it 3. Everything was good except the ceviche salad (too much octopus). Eel is great; garlic tuna sashimi, halibut tempura hand roll, and all their signature rolls rock! However, there are other places in the WH (Edo, Kobe, even Little Brothers!) that are just as good but less money. Brothers is usually crowded too so I think I will head to my other WH sushi fixtures where I don't have to empty my wallet before I get some fro-yo for dessert!

Brother's Sushi serves the freshes fish in the valley. It's a small little place good for parties of 1-4, anymore would be too crowded. Service is terrific and food is excellent. The only thing for me to complain about is the price. It is a little pricey (avg $20 a person for lunch). Last time I went I tried the JJRoll, which was spicy and tasty. Also tried the Yellowtail and Eel which were excellent. I will definitely go back, on occasion...

Hello Yelp World. First of many reviews to come (hope). Summary: Overpriced, overrated, average quality (though I did not have any of the "live" stuff people seem to like). OK, so first things first - this place is a dump. Not unusual for a sushi joint though. If you live within 5 minutes, this would be a good local sushi spot. Otherwise, save yourself the trip. From the top: - warm hand towels smell like cat pee. Ick. - miso soup was terrible. Very watery with hardly any tofu. Bad way to start. - had the Halibut w/chilli and sesame special. Bland at best. Too much sesame oil. - Salmon sushi was good quality, fresh, thinly cut, nice texture. BUT, they put onions on top which I thought was no good. Could have used more wasabi, too. - Yellowtail, Red Snapper both standard. Not thrilling, but nice. - Eel w/cucumber roll was stupid. - Spicy Yellowtail way too heavy on the mayo (?). Not nearly spicy enough. - Kerry roll... too creamy, too much rice. Bleh. - Two people, $100 with tip. Not worth it compared to some downtown sushi joints.

I have been here twice and both times have been extremely enjoyable dining experiences. I recommend the lobster hand roll. The toro and salmon have been great and very fresh both times I have been here.

This is by far the best sushi in the city. The quality of the fish is second to none. I spoke with the owners, who are almost always there, and the husband says he buys his fish almost daily. Everything is good there and I mean everything. It is on the high end of price but worth it because of the quality of fish and service. The wife works the host desk and husband is one of the chefs at the bar. They are both super friendly and always available. My wife and I have been going there for about 7 years or more, and they know us by name now and usually put us at the head of the list when there is a wait, shhh. They even know our birthdays now, so they sing to us even if we don't mention it. They also usually give you a little gift too, a cup or a little money bank kitten, which has some cultural significance. We really don't go anywhere else. When we take our friends that have never been there, they always start the night by telling us how great their place is but end the night saying that Brother's is their new favorite. Kari Roll is the best roll I have ever had anywhere. The live sweet shrimp is great too. If you sit at the bar you can see how "live" they really are. Once, it was actually still twitching when they gave it me, but it was F-ing delicious.

OK, apparently the C rating is true. "H.Y." was correct. It has apparently been remedied. Don't know what happened, and the LA County Dept. of Health website has not been updated. Still, they now have an A rating, so they obviously fixed whatever the problem was. I presume this is lesson learned for them. I will, of course, continue to go there.

We love this place - though haven't been in a long while. The jj roll is great and so is our fave kerri roll. They say kerri roll is very big but if you ask for small cuts, it is way more manageable. The reviews on the wall talk about people who are brave enough to have omakase - I think that is what it is called - chef's choice, get some amazing stuff. Spicy tuna is also very good here. Ask for the special menu and explore. Really a treat. Not so cheap but worth it. Very hard to get a table.

Small, clean, and unpretentious, with friendly staff, fresh sushi, and good reggae vibes...yes...reggae... Probably the best sushi I've ever had..incl Roku, Hirozen, Tomadachi, and Katsu-ya. Try the red snapper.

Brothers looks very small from the outside and even smaller when you get inside, but let me just say this "Sauteed Shrimp Roll!" This is a must order, the garlic sauce is very yummy and every time I go I ask them to leave the plate so I can dunk other rolls in that sauce. The Albacore sushi is tender and so fresh. Try the sweet shrimp sushi and you'll see and taste the difference of cooked shrimp to raw shrimp. I really enjoy Brothers sushi and would recommend it to anyone looking for fresh and tasty sushi in Woodland Hills.

I love this place but I must concur with H.Y that they did have a C rating for about 2 weeks. It was a very sad moment for me when I saw this. The grade has returned to an A but in my mind I wonder why was there a C. I still reccomend this place as the best Sushi I have ever had but I don't want H.Y to be hung out to dry.

My fiance and I are huge brothers fans! You must try the sweet shrimp, the kerry roll, and oyster shooters! Goro is the owner and definately the best sushi chef but they are all pretty good and the fish is always the freshest (Goro goes to the fish market early every morning) Try to sit at the bar! I think this is by far the best sushi in the valley and doesn't have that stuck up feeling.

I've been here dozens of times and while not everything is excellent, there's enough really good stuff here that I'm always ready to go back. My favorites here are the calamari salad and one of the special rolls - I think it's the Paul roll? Once for my birthday, they brought me a lobster tail in a sort of creamy, spicy sauce that completely blew my mind. I tried to find it on the menu later and couldn't, so I can't tell you what it is. (Edit: we figured out that it is Dynamite Lobster. Try it. It is good. Also, the sweet baby octopus is extremely good. I recently stopped eating it after I read a news story about how smart octopi are, but back when I could enjoy it, I liked it in part because it feels so freaking evil to eat something called "sweet baby" anything. You can just picture the little octopus on your plate with a pink bonnet, clutching a rattle in one of its tiny tentacles. Then you eat its brain. This was funny when I didn't know it was a smart brain but now it kind of turns my stomach...hopefully you lack these compunctions and can still give it a try.) Be sure to make reservations, because it's really small. I feel sorry for the people working there because, with a few exceptions, it seems like every time I go they're playing Bob Marley's "Legend".
